Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kateri camp management platform ("Kateri", "we", "us", or "the Service"), operated by the Kateri team. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who may use Kateri

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Kateri account. Parents and guardians may register children under 18 as campers on their own account. Camps and staff accounts must be authorized by the operating organization of that camp.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are being used to violate these Terms or applicable law.

3. Camp operator responsibilities

Camps and their staff who use Kateri are responsible for: the accuracy of information they publish (sessions, prices, policies), the safety and supervision of campers, compliance with all applicable state and local licensing requirements, and their own refund, medical, and code-of-conduct policies. Kateri provides software; camps operate the programs.

4. Payments

Registration fees, deposits, add-ons, and any other charges are set by the camp operator, not by Kateri. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). Kateri does not store your full card number. Refunds are governed by each camp's refund policy and applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or that infringes anyone's rights;
  • attempt to access data belonging to other users or camps;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission;
  • use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages;
  • reverse engineer, resell, or wrap the Service without a written agreement.

6. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the information you upload (camper details, photos, medical notes, forms, etc.). You grant Kateri and your camp a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you and your camp. Camps may download and export the data associated with their program at any time.

7. Service availability

We work hard to keep Kateri available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may make changes, perform maintenance, or add and remove features. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of significant changes.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that pose a security risk, or as required by law. On termination, camps may request an export of their data within 30 days.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Kateri does not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted. Camps remain responsible for safety, supervision, medical care, and licensing at their program.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kateri's total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to Kateri in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Kateri is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice.
