Refund Policy

Camp operators set the refund terms

Each camp that uses Kateri sets its own refund policy — including cutoff dates, whether deposits are refundable, cancellation fees, and how transfers between sessions work. Kateri is the platform; the camp is the merchant of record for your registration.

You can view your specific camp's refund policy on that camp's public page and on your registration summary before you pay. Please read it before completing checkout.

How to request a refund

  1. Open your parent portal and go to the registration in question.
  2. Use the "Request refund" action, or contact your camp administrator directly.
  3. Your camp reviews the request against their published policy and issues the refund (in full, partial, or denied) through the same payment method used at checkout.

Typical timelines

  • Camp review: usually within 5 business days, faster during camp season.
  • Bank posting: once a refund is issued in Stripe, it typically appears on your card statement within 5–10 business days.

Platform fee

Kateri charges a small per-camper platform fee to the camp for each paid registration. If your camp refunds a registration in full, the platform fee is also reversed to the camp. Refunds of the fee to you personally are handled entirely by the camp as part of the refund they issue.

Non-refundable items

Individual camps may designate certain add-ons or fees as non-refundable (for example, custom apparel that has already been produced). These items will be clearly labeled at checkout by that camp.

Disputes

If you and your camp cannot reach agreement on a refund, please raise the issue in writing with the camp's administrator first. If your dispute cannot be resolved, you may contact your payment card issuer. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting the camp may delay refund of any amount otherwise owed to you.

Contact

For refund questions on a specific registration, contact your camp administrator directly. For questions about the Kateri platform itself, ask your camp to reach out to the Kateri team.
